Erpification is a word for the change, and a practice that runs it. Both came out of doing the thing rather than writing about it.
Where the method comes from
The six stages, the readiness check and the guides on this site are not a survey of the literature. They come from running the change inside an operating company: mapping what the business actually ran on, counting how many times the same number was re-keyed, redesigning processes around one system of record, migrating the data, and closing the first month inside the new setup.
That is also why the material says no more often than a vendor's would. Several of the things that look like software problems turned out to be process problems, and the cheapest fixes were the ones that involved buying nothing.
Why the word
Electrification had a word. Digitization had a word. The most consequential operating change a mid-sized business makes had none, so it kept being described as a software purchase, and budgeted and staffed like one.
Erpification names the whole thing: the decision, the process redesign, the data clean-up, the training, the go-live, and the months after. The term was coined in 2026 and the definition on the front page is free to use, quote and cite.
How we work
- The evaluation comes first, and it stands alone. You keep the current-state map and the plan whether or not the engagement continues.
- No software is resold here. Nothing on this site earns a commission from a vendor, which is the only way advice about selection can be worth anything.
- Your team does the work that only your team can do. The decisions about your data and your processes belong to the people who live with them.
